Heat pump & AC electrical — disconnects and soft starts

AC and heat pump systems run hard in Southwest Florida, and the electrical parts outside take a beating. We replace failing disconnects, repair the circuits and install soft starts.

What we do

We replace rusted or failing AC disconnects and repair or upgrade the circuits that feed condensers and heat pumps — including pool heat pumps. We check the existing wire, breaker and disconnect so the new parts match what the equipment actually needs. This is a common call for us, and it's often done alongside a panel or surge-protection upgrade.

  • AC disconnect replacement (rusted or failing)
  • Condenser and heat pump circuit repairs and upgrades
  • Soft start kits
  • Pool heat pump circuits and disconnects (GulfStream installs)
  • Wire, breaker and disconnect sizing checks
  • Pairing with a panel or surge-protection upgrade

Why add a soft start?

  1. A soft start reduces the big inrush of current when the compressor kicks on.
  2. That can mean less light flicker and less strain on the system.
  3. It can help an AC run on a smaller portable generator — useful with a generator interlock.

Common questions

My AC disconnect is rusted. Is that a problem?

Yes — outdoor disconnects take a beating here. We replace rusted or failing disconnects and check the circuit feeding the unit.
